Finely  crafted of solid  "heartwood"   teak  (tectona grandis),   garden furniture from                  Island Teak Company will provide you a lifetime of use in your outdoor environment.
The high oil and rubber content in teak makes it virtually immune to rot, splinters, and insects. Boatbuilders have used teak for hundreds of years because of its performance in the harsh marine environment.
Our furniture is specially made to our high standards in Java, Indonesia.
John Stone, owner of Island Teak and boatbuilder for 30 years, personally travels to Java to inspect and improve each piece of furniture for quality of workmanship and material. He has also designed  many of the peices we sell.

We insist on the use of ecologically harvested timber, certified for chain of custody by “Smart Wood,” a program of the Rainforest Alliance. For every tree cut, three are planted.
We use only kiln-dried wood.
All major structural joints are tight-fitting, machine-quality mortise and tenons, pinned and glued with polyurethane glue; the best for teak. we only use solid brass fittings, and each peice is hand finished for an extremely smooth texture.

IN STOCK APRIL 2013 - TEAK POST AND BEAM HOUSE FRAMES

Solid Teak, 75-150 yrs. old, very good condition. They are center frames from the traditional Javanese house called a Jogolo. There are 2 complete frames available. Just post and top girts with carved corner braces and center beam. No roof or wall framing. I have assembled both frames to check that all parts fit. Both are stacked, ready for pick up at our Wiscasset location.

Both frames have 6" x 6" posts 10'+ high, with 5 x 8" top girts.
 
FRAME #1 - (Shown below) :
8' x 16' , 4 post frame, 300+ board feet of teak timber.
Make a nice cottage or pavillion, or re-saw for your project.

28' long girts are beautifully scarfed.
